PASSERIFORMES: Ptilonorhynchidae
Ptilonorhynchus maculatus
With a bower near the banks of the Paroo River in fairly isolated country this bird was obviously having difficulty finding decent ornamentation for its bower.
Although its bower looked far more drab with only sparse decoration compared to the one we'd seen at Bowra (which was highly decorated with copious amounts of green glass and white stones and bone) it was still receiving the interest of a couple of females.
